Claire Hilbrecht
Claire Hilbrecht has been active in the Lexington community since 2017, when they started their undergrad degree at the University of Kentucky. A Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences major, Claire entered into climate action through the sciences. From there, they discovered their interest in urban forestry and climate adaptation as a team member with the Urban Forest Initiative. Claire is now working toward their Master's degree in Geography at UK. Their research works to bring together geographers, artists, and scientists to think through creative and collaborative approaches to studying and visualizing urban forests in Lexington. Claire also works with the local community through Climate Conversations, which brings together folks from all backgrounds to have meaningful and heart-opening conversations about the climate crisis with the goal of imagining a better future for Lexington.
