Carol Spence

Carol Spence has spent her career in various aspects of communications work, beginning with commercial, instructional, and corporate video production and eventually moving into writing for print. She holds a B.A. from Penn State in speech communications and an M.A. in theatre from the University of Kentucky.  She worked in radio and also managed two theatre companies, which involved everything from public relations to grant-writing, fundraising, producing, directing, and designing. Passionate about the natural world and methods for preserving the environment, Spence found a niche for herself in the UK College of Agriculture, Food and Environment 14 years ago, where she helps create messages that inform and advance the college’s work with the public. She has worked for the University of Kentucky for more than 37 years.
