The Institute for Biomedical Informatics (IBI) at the University of Kentucky (UK) was established in 2015 and is lead by Jeffery Talbert, PhD. IBI provides an environment for multidisciplinary team science to advance biomedical informatics and improve human health.

The academic home of IBI is the Division of Biomedical Informatics in the Department of Internal Medicine, UK College of Medicine.

IBI provides expertise to the Biomedical Informatics Core of the Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS), an NCATS-funded CTSA hub, as well as other UK centers and institutes.
