Elizabeth Ford, Ph.D.

Elizabeth Ford earned bachelor’s and doctoral degrees in music from The Johns Hopkins University and the University of Glasgow, Scotland, respectively. Her doctoral research on the history of the flute in Scotland won the National Flute Association’s graduate research award. Since then, she has held fellowships from the Royal Society of Edinburgh and the Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities at the University of Edinburgh. An experienced editor, researcher, and practitioner, she has worked on proposals to the Arts and Humanities Research Council, Royal Society of Edinburgh, National Endowment for the Arts, West Virginia Humanities Council, US Department of Agriculture, and many other private foundations in the United Kingdom and West Virginia.
