Macie earned an undergraduate degree in political science and international studies from Morehead State University. She later went on to obtain a master’s degree in diplomacy and international commerce from the University of Kentucky. During her master’s training, she completed an internship with SOAR (Shaping Our Appalachian Region). Previously she worked with the Proposal Development Office as a graduate assistant, handling PDO Funding Alert disseminations from select federal funding sources. In her current role, she oversees all aspects of the UK Research limited submission coordination process for those funding opportunities that limit the number of applications an institution may submit. She also manages the limited submission web portal.
