A team of Health Sciences investigators are collaborating with military researchers at the Naval Health Research Center and faculty at the University of Virginia to find rehabilitative solutions for populations most at risk for chronic and future ankle injuries.

Brewington will study magnetic field design for the Los Alamos National Laboratory neutron electric dipole moment experiment, or LANL-nEDM. Gervais will work with both the Nab Experiment and nEDM collaboration at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee.

UK's Office of Technology Commercialization (OTC), on behalf of UK Research Foundation (UKRF), was awarded a three-year $600,000 grant from the Economic Development Administration (EDA) Build to Scale Program, one of 52 projects funded from 36 states.

Each fellow will receive a $32,000 per year stipend as well as support for cost of education for two years through the grant. Fellows will receive coaching, academic and community support, professional development, and access to opportunities for research, writing and presentation.

The funding will further ongoing substance use disorder treatment research in collaboration with Sharon Walsh at the UK Center on Drug and Alcohol Research (CDAR) and Mei-Chuan Ko at the Wake Forest School of Medicine.
