Core Facility Survey Redeployment

On Monday, January 13, we deployed a Core Facility assessment survey using listservs provided to our team, but based on feedback we realize not all who would like to participate received the survey. We are redeploying this message using a different distribution list to reach a broader set of researchers. We apologize to those who did not receive the initial message and to those who might receive it twice. Please forward this message to staff or trainees who utilize the Core Facilities managed by the Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR):

  • Flow Cytometry and Immune Monitoring
  • Light Microscopy
  • Animal Behavior
  • Mass Spectrometry and Proteomics
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Spectroscopy Center
  • Division of Laboratory Animal Resources
  • Pathology Research
  • Energy Balance and Body Composition

Late last year, I initiated a series of surveys to evaluate the Grant Administrative Shared Services at UK. The response from our research community and staff was astonishing, with over 700 participants contributing insight. The data and feedback collected are now being utilized to implement improvements within Collaborative Grant Services (CGS) and Office of Sponsored Projects Administration (OSPA), concentrating on enhancing communication, refining process, integrating technology and promoting work-life balance.

This is just one step in my ongoing commitment to building on the excellent work already happening at UK. My goal is to explore other units under the OVPR to identify challenges and opportunities that will help advance our research initiatives.

I invite you to participate in another survey, this time focusing on services provided by Core Facilities. Please complete this survey by Wednesday, Jan. 29. Your input is essential as we work toward continuous improvement.

Thank you for your patience and participation.

Ilhem Messaoudi, PhD
Acting Vice President for Research
