Odyssey Magazine
Odyssey was published by the Office of the Vice President for Research through Research Communications and covered the latest research advances, innovative scholarship, and outstanding people that are part of UK's research enterprise. Fall 2010 was the final print issue.
Odyssey began in 1982 and was distributed to 20,000 readers, including UK graduate degree alumni, local and state decision makers, media, Kentucky public libraries, friends of UK across the country, and full-time faculty.
Over the years, Odyssey has received many awards from CASE-Kentucky, part of the national organization that supports educational advancement. In 2007, Odyssey was honored twice: The 25th anniversary issue won the Grand Award for Magazines and Alicia Gregory received an Excellence Award for Feature Writing for "Green Energy," the cover story for Winter 2007. In 2006, Jeff Worley received an Excellence Award for Feature Writing for "Miles Osland: Packing a Mean Sax" which appeared in the Fall 2005 issue. And in 2001 Odyssey won the Grand Award for Magazines for the Fall 2000 issue, the Excellence Award for Magazines for the Spring 2001 issue, and Excellence Awards for Feature Writing for "Technology with the Human Touch" (Jeff Worley) and "Not Dying for Their Art" (Alicia Gregory).
