Michael Hart received his DVM from Texas A&M University in 1994 and spent two years in private veterinary practice prior to completing post-doctoral residency training in laboratory animal medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Prior to coming to the University of Kentucky, Dr. Hart served as the Director of Animal Resources and Attending Veterinarian at Georgia State University, Atlanta, Georgia where he was also an adjunct professor in the Institute of Biomedical Sciences. Prior to that he served in similar capacities at both Auburn and Texas Tech Universities. He is board certified in laboratory animal medicine and serves as an ad hoc Consultant for AAALAC International.
