Noé Tirado-Muñiz received his first veterinary degree (DMV) from the Superior Institute of Agricultural Sciences of La Havana, Cuba in 1984 and his second degree (DVM) from the Ohio State University (OSU) in 1994. After working in private practice, he returned to OSU and completed a residency in Laboratory Animal Medicine and obtained a Master’s in Science in 1999.  

At OSU he served as Adjunct Assistant Professor for the Department of Veterinary Preventive Medicine (VPM) and was a teaching-team member for the course “Pharmacy 694-Puerto Rico: A Cultural Look at Health Care” for the OSU College of Pharmacy.  He worked with multiple animal species from mice to chimpanzees.

At UK he has presented lectures on Bio Ethics in the Use of Vertebrate Animals, Federal Regulatory Requirements for the Use of Animals in Research for the College of Medicine, College of Agriculture, Food and Environment, College of Engineering and others. He was also co-instructor of the One Health Systems course for the College of Public Health.

He has collaborated with several institutions and organizations including the Juarez Autonomous University of Tabasco, Mexico, the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science, Foundation for Biomedical Research, and others.
