The IRB does not mandate GCP training for study personnel in general; however, many clinical trial sponsors and funding agencies require basic and refresher GCP training.

The CITI Program has updated all GCP and other content to align with the new ICH E6(R3) Guidelines. New learners will see the updated content, but learners who have already completed a course may re-complete the updated modules.

If your refresher training is not due, but your sponsor requires you to update your training to be current with the July 2025 E6(R3) updates, you may do the following

  • Log in to your CITI account
  • Select “View Courses” under “Institutional Courses”
  • Select “Review Course” under “Completed Courses”
  • Select “Review” next to each module you would like to re-complete

Please note that Part 2 of your Completion Report (the “Coursework Transcript”) will reflect the most recent completion date and score for each module. However, re-completing modules will not change or extend your renewal date.

2026 Update Spanish GCP Modules Will Be Updated on March 16

CITI Program’s Spanish Good Clinical Practice (GCP) content will be updated on March 16, 2026, given the new ICH E6(R3) Guideline for Good Clinical Practice.

On March 16, all affected modules will be updated. Therefore, learners who have started a course that includes the current modules should complete it prior to March 16. Otherwise, they will need to complete the updated modules.
