Troubleshooting the Coggno Course

Below are a few common issues you may experience within the course.

If the issue you are experiencing is not listed below, please contact Jeeyoung Chun for assistance.

I can’t see the Next/Previous buttons to get past the first screen.

Click your browser’s “maximize” or “minimize” button until the Next/Previous arrows and timeline appear at the bottom of the screen.

Click your browser’s “maximize” or “minimize” button until the Next/Previous arrows and timeline appear at the bottom of the screen.

I can’t hear the audio narration and/or read the text of the audio.

  1. Make sure the audio is turned up within the lesson.
Click the speaker icon, bottom left side of lesson controls.
  1. Make certain that your computer audio is turned up and that the correct audio output device is selected.
Click your computer speaker icon to turn up volume and make sure the audio device is correct.
  1. If you are unable to adjust the audio settings, you can click the "CC" button to show closed captioning along with the narration, or you can click "Notes" to read the narration in paragraph form.
Click the CC icon in the controls at the bottom of the lesson, or click Notes in the upper right of the lesson screen.

I can’t open the lesson (my browser won’t allow pop-ups).

If the lesson does not open in a separate window when you click the "Launch course" button, you will need to go to your browser settings to allow for pop-ups on coggno.com, then try again.

Google Chrome:

  1. Go to the browser menu (kabob icon, upper right corner of browser).
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Click Privacy and security.
  4. Click Site Settings.
  5. Click Pop-ups and redirects.
  6. Under the "Allowed to send pop-ups and use redirects," click Add.
  7. Enter the website address and click Add.

Mozilla Firefox

  1. Go to the browser menu (hamburger icon, upper right corner of browser).
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Click Privacy & Security.
  4. Scroll to the Permissions section.
  5. Uncheck "Block pop-up windows" or click the Exceptions button to add the specific site to allow pop-ups.

How do I skip from one section to the next, or jump past large portions of the lesson?

In the upper left corner of the screen, you can click the hamburger menu icon (three short, parallel horizontal lines stacked vertically to expand/contract the menu) for the lesson. This will open the menu to the left of the screen so that you may choose the section you would like to view.

Within the lesson in Coggno, click the hamburger menu icon to open the menu and jump between sections.

When I click “Retry Lesson”, it takes me all the way back to the beginning of the lesson.

This is as designed. Because the questions are mixed into the lesson itself, and because you may need to review the content of the lessons, you will be prompted to retake the lesson from the start.

Sometimes I can’t progress any further, or an error pops up.

After a short period of inactivity, Coggno.com will log the user out. You may need to close the window, refresh/log in again, and open the lesson again. You will have the option to “resume” the lesson from the point that you left off.
