Pilot Grants for Postdoctoral Scholars/Fellows

This pilot funding mechanism provides resources to support innovative substance use research conducted by Postdoctoral Scholars/Fellows. All applications must address how the pilot project will advance their research prospects in terms of publications, pursuit of extramural grant support, and/or job market competitiveness. Pilot projects must align with SUPRA’s mission and support innovative, collaborative substance use research from a basic science, clinical, or community research perspective. Requests for Applications (RFAs) will be released every 12 to 18 months.

    • Title: Design and Synthesis of Novel Synthetic Opioid Medical Countermeasures (Start Date: January 1, 2025) 
    • “My project entails developing novel opioid antagonists with improved pharmacological activity compared to that of naloxone.”

    This new tool is available for state and local government partners to provide evidence-based practices tested through the HEALing Communities Study (HCS) Consortium members including the UK HCS team.
