Mass Spectrometry and Proteomics Core
Mass Spectrometry Core Survey - Complete by November 25
New Thermo Fisher Orbitrap Ascend Tribrid Mass Spectrometer
The Mass Spectrometry and Proteomics Core has added a Thermo Fisher Orbitrap Ascend Tribrid Mass Spectrometer, which is a next-generation platform for advanced protein characterization. Enhanced acquisition methods and increased sensitivity on the Ascend have markedly improved protein and peptide detections, enabling deeper coverage from complex or limited samples.
What is the Mass Spectrometry & Proteomics Core?
The Mass Spectrometry and Proteomics Core serves the research community of the University of Kentucky by providing access to advanced analytical equipment for quantitation and structural analysis. The core can assist in sample preparation, method development, acquisition, and data analysis.
Our Mission
