Rapid Response Research Pilot Grant
This funding opportunity is designed to support community-engaged, co-created solutions that address emergent environmental health challenges, especially those related to natural disasters, extreme weather events, or innovative approaches to community resiliency.
Projects may focus on the development of tools, technologies, or design interventions that advance sustainable communities by improving quality of life, quality of place, or environmental health—particularly in the context of disaster preparedness, response, or recovery.
Proposed projects must have a clear and direct impact on rural communities in Kentucky. Applicants must be faculty at UK in any title series.
Application Requirements
- Scope of Work (2 pages maximum)
- Briefly explain the importance of the problem.
- Clearly describe your approach.
- Identify specific outcomes.
- Budget
- Please provide a brief budget and justification for all expenses.
- The purchase of equipment and travel not absolutely necessary for the execution of the project is prohibited.
- Letter of Partnership
- If you have identified a community partner, please include a letter confirming their role in the design or implementation of the project.
- If you do not yet have a partner, indicate this in your application—we could align your efforts to identify potential partners.
- Sustainability Plan
- Provide a brief plan outlining how the project will continue beyond the implementation period.
