This report highlights the transformational growth and achievements of UK Innovate and the Office of Technology Commercialization (OTC) at the University of Kentucky over four fiscal years. Born from a vision to strengthen innovation, entrepreneurship and economic impact, UK Innovate launched in 2021 and expanded its services across commercialization, social innovation, corporate partnerships and workforce training.

Key highlights include:

• Launch of UK Innovate and creation of programs like Innovation Connect, Innovation Training and Social Innovation.
• GAME Change, a $1M NSF Engines development award, creating a regional innovation hub for circular economy manufacturing.
• More than 600 patent applications filed, 131 patents issued, 162 licenses/options executed and 22 new startups formed.
• Over $7.7M distributed to inventors and $20M to colleges and departments since 2010.
• Recognition as a Top 100 University worldwide for U.S. patents granted multiple times.
• Strategic programs like Launch Blue and micro-certification workshops that advance talent and startup development.
• Significant growth in industry collaborations and corporate engagement, including launching initiatives like the Estate Whiskey Alliance.
