CCTS Accepting Applications for Pilot Grant Program
The University of Kentucky Center for Clinical and Translational Science is now accepting applications for pilot funding in several collaborative and disease-focused categories. Funding ranges between $25,000 and $50,000, depending on the award. Letters of intent for most categories are due Feb. 22 (exceptions noted with an asterisk). Funding categories include:
- Community Engagement ($25,000)
- Health Disparities ($25,000)
- Cancer ($50,000)
- Diabetes and Obesity ($50,000)
- Spinal Cord and Brain Injury Research ($50,000)
- Alzheimer’s and Neurodegenerative Diseases* ($25,000)
- University of Kentucky / University of Cincinnati Collaboration ($50,000)
- University of Kentucky / Wake Forest University Collaboration ($50,000)
- Western States Consortium Collaboration* ($25,000)
- Marshall University ($25,000)
* These categories have separate instructions and deadlines.
The purpose of this funding mechanism is to provide a new opportunity and resources for innovative, collaborative research regarding national health challenges and disparities, with a particular focus on Appalachia.
The funding for these pilot studies is derived from the CCTS program in partnership with other UK centers and collaborating universities in the Appalachian Translational Research Network and the Western State Consortium.
