The IMPACT Awards initiative is an internal funding program from the Office of the Provost designed to support innovation and transformation within UK’s colleges.

Intro to R Workshop

Join us for the first installment of the R Workshop Series, where you will learn the basics of R and RStudio. You will learn how to install and run packages, do basic arithmetic, create and name objects, work with functions, create and subset vectors, and much more. No previous experience with R or coding needed to participate in this workshop.    

Data Visualizations with ggplot2 in R Workshop

Join us for the final installment of the R Workshop Series, where the focus will be on creating data visualizations in R. Learn how to build graphics using the ggplot2 package in R. Participation in the first installment of the R Workshop Series, Intro to R, or a working knowledge of R/RStudio is highly recommended.

Participation in the first installment of the R Workshop Series, Intro to R, or a working knowledge of R/RStudio is highly recommended.

Introduction to Text Mining with Chronicling America Newspapers

Interested in learning about the millions of digitized newspapers in the Library of Congress's Chronicling America collection and the types of insights you can gain through quantitative analysis of them? Come join us for this hands-on workshop, which will cover:        - Accessing historical newspapers through Chronicling America's user interface.    - Sending and receiving data between computers with Application Programming Interfaces (APIs)
