UK Sustainability and UK Recycling, alongside the UK Center for Applied Energy Research (CAER), are launching WholeSum — a hub for news, information and discussions on sustainability issues for students, faculty, staff and the community.
The CAER project seeks to solve both of those issues through the development of new high-strength, high-bond cements and concretes that are simple to deploy and use. These products will require little or no surface preparation and eliminate the heavy precast reinforcement-laden structural elements that bog down repair and construction projects.

The nearly $4 million, four-year project, titled “Data-Enabled Discovery and Design to Transform Liquid-Based Energy Storage,” or D3TaLES, seeks to create new domain knowledge in materials science for the creation of next-generation batteries.

Brewington will study magnetic field design for the Los Alamos National Laboratory neutron electric dipole moment experiment, or LANL-nEDM. Gervais will work with both the Nab Experiment and nEDM collaboration at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee.
