Bethany Fomby
Community Health Innovation Manager
Bethany Fomby is the Community Health Innovation Manager at UK Innovate within the University of Kentucky. In this role, she leads projects and partnerships that address community challenges influencing health and enhance overall well-being through creative, collaborative strategies. She works closely with internal teams and external partners to develop, test and support forward-thinking programs that meet community needs, improve health outcomes and deliver meaningful, measurable results.
Prior to joining UK Innovate, Bethany served as Manager of Health Promotion Outreach/Services at Anthem Kentucky Medicaid, where she directed statewide initiatives focused on improving quality of life and addressing social and environmental factors that impact health. In this role, she gained valuable experience overseeing cross-functional programs, working alongside healthcare organizations and advancing community-centered solutions. This foundation in people-focused program leadership continues to shape her collaborative, mission-driven approach to innovation.
Bethany holds a bachelor’s degree in Community Support Services with a minor in Sociology from Morehead State University and a master’s degree in Human Resource and Organizational Development from the University of Louisville. During her graduate studies, she was recognized with the Sheila D. Bridgeman Student Collegiality Award in 2023. These academic experiences have shaped her leadership style and commitment to fostering strong, people-centered organizational strategies.
