Materials Science RPA FY 25 Funding

We are pleased to announce the FY25 call for proposals for m-RPA and we welcome your funding applications. Note that the joint m-RPA and e-RPA Equipment competition was circulated last week and is due January 10, 2025. Four additional m-RPA categories are now active with a submission deadline of January 17, 2025. These categories are:

Materials Science RPA Equipment Grant Competition FY25

The Materials Science Research Priority Area (m-RPA) is pleased to announce the FY25 Equipment Competition. The equipment competition is a joint call by the Materials Science and Energy RPAs, but proposals will be funded by the individual RPAs, or jointly when appropriate. Applications are due January 10, 2025. Other categories for m-RPA funding are forthcoming.

NSF DMREF Limited Submission Opportunity

The NSF solicitation is now live for the Limited Submission opportunity Designing Materials to Revolutionize and Engineer our Future (DMREF).

Bruker Dektak XT Surface Profiler

The new Bruker Dektak XT surface profiler is now available for use in the Center for Nanoscale Science and Engineering.  The profiler quickly measures step heights and surface roughness up to 1 mm high over distances up to 50 mm.   The built-in microscope allows alignment to specific features or areas of interest.  In addition, the profiler features the 2D stress measurement option for determining thin-film stress and the low force measurement option for accurately characterizing soft samples without damage.   The instrument is located in room A368 of the
