The University of Kentucky Research Leadership Academy (RLA), supported by the Office of the Vice President for Research, is a new multi-component program designed to accelerate the development of aspirational research leaders.

To strengthen research collaboration and multidisciplinary networks, we have added leadership positions for several of our colleagues across campus. 

For the first time in University of Kentucky history, investigators received $468 million in extramural grants and contracts to support their research and creative work last fiscal year. This is a 9% increase from FY20.

UK Research is pleased to announce that Ian D. McClure, J.D., LL.M. has accepted the position of Associate Vice President for Research (AVPR), Innovation and Economic Impact.

Dr. Chad Risko has accepted our offer to be the new Faculty Director of the Office of Undergraduate Research. Dr. Risko is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Kentucky.

Earlier this fall, Dr. Eli Capilouto joined elected officials from across Eastern Kentucky for the Shaping Our Appalachian Region (SOAR) Summit in Pikeville. It was a gathering underscored by hope and guided by a compelling vision.
