The series features presentations by endowed faculty and staff covering a range of topics including intimate partner psychological abuse, financial abuse and the reported increase in intimate partner violence during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Patrick Hannon has been awarded the Outstanding New Environmental Scientist (ONES) Award by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), a group within the NIH.
“We were pleased at the quality of the proposals we received but two proposals stood out that had strong methodology, existing expertise and potential to grow into larger research projects that were ultimately selected for funding,” said Diane Follingstad, director of CRVAW.
In its sixth consecutive year, the Healthy Hearts for Women Symposium features scientists from UK and universities across the country, who present research and new findings in women’s heart health and translational cardiovascular medicine.
Funded by NIDA and the Office of Research on Women’s Health at NIH, BIRCWH gives UK scholars training, collaboration and mentoring opportunities that enable them to develop independent research programs in women’s health.
