Main Building in Summer

As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance research transparency and support strategic planning, our office is implementing a new online tool that will ask investigators to indicate the location, geographical region or specific populations their research involves. This initiative aligns with our institutional commitment to support research that makes an impact across the Commonwealth and beyond. Information gained from this data collection will be used to show our impact across the state with institutional, state and federal leaders. This information will not impact your current funding, but it will help UK better understand the breadth and focus of our research portfolio.

For all active grants and contracts, you will be asked to answer the following question: Is this research occurring in an off-campus location or is the scope of the project specific to a particular geographic region or population (regardless of where the research is occurring)?

If the answer is “yes,” you will be asked to enter in the specific location(s). You can return to the data collection form at any time to update your responses for active projects. If you have technical issues with the online data collection, please contact RIS Help Desk (resis@uky.edu). If you need assistance in how to answer this question for your specific project, please contact Research Analytics (researchanalytics@uky.edu).

We appreciate your attention to this request and ask that you complete this process for your current awarded projects by September 30, 2025. As new awards are received, you will be prompted on PADRs and other communications through OSPA and/or CGS.

Thank you for your continued contributions to the university’s research mission.
