We are pleased to invite researchers, faculty, department chairs, center directors and college leadership to a virtual training session on SciVal, Elsevier’s research performance, benchmarking and strategic intelligence platform available to all UK employees.

SciVal leverages publication and citation data to help institutions, academic units and individual researchers better understand their research strengths, collaboration networks, scholarly impact and growth opportunities. Whether you are interested in evaluating your department’s research portfolio, identifying potential collaborators, supporting strategic planning initiatives or enhancing your own research visibility, this session will provide practical guidance on how to effectively use the platform for:

  • Benchmarking departmental performance against peer departments and aspirational institutions.
  • Identifying high-performing research areas and emerging fields for strategic investment.
  • Assessing collaboration patterns within and outside UK.
  • Supporting faculty recruitment and retention strategies with data-informed analyses.
  • Informing strategic plans, annual reviews, accreditation efforts and program evaluations.
  • Understanding the research impact of faculty, centers and interdisciplinary initiatives.
