David DeVore serves as Executive Director of Expert Connect and R&D Manager for the Pigman College of Engineering at the University of Kentucky. In this role, he leads efforts to connect industry partners with the university’s advanced research capabilities, world-class faculty and state-of-the-art facilities. David provides focused, strategic support to advance impactful innovation and strengthen research-driven industry partnerships. 

David brings more than 30 years of experience in the technology sector, including senior leadership roles at Xerox and Lexmark International, where he served as Director and Head of International Governmental Affairs. Throughout his career, he has led collaboration with industry groups and government stakeholders at the federal, state, local and international levels to drive high-impact outcomes. His experience spans government affairs, research and development, sustainability and circular economy initiatives, product architecture, supply chain, capital planning, regulatory compliance, IT and cybersecurity sourcing. David holds more than 10 patents and trade secrets, with work spanning intellectual property, security policy, public policy, geopolitical strategy and special projects. 

David has served on the board of directors of the Information Technology Industry Council and has been active with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, National Association of Manufacturers, Kentucky Association of Manufacturers and Business Roundtable. He has also contributed to the development of international standards through the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). 

In addition to his professional work, David remains engaged in the community through service on local nonprofit boards, including the Lexington Arts and Science Center and through participation in technology conferences, STEM and university events. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from West Virginia Institute of Technology.
