Kim Sayre, P.E.
Senior Advisor
Kim Sayre, P.E., retired from the University of Kentucky in February 2026 and continues to serve part-time as a Senior Advisor for UK Innovate. She previously held the role of R&D Partnerships Manager, where she supported innovation and industry research partnerships for the Stanley and Karen Pigman College of Engineering.
Earlier in her career at the university, Kim led multiple industry engagement initiatives, including oversight of the Engineering Assistance Program for Kentucky manufacturers; management of the Lean Systems Program, a partnership with Toyota; leadership of the Innovation Extension Center; service as Director of Engineering Career Services and Director of the Engineering/MBA Dual Degree Program. She also served as the advisor to the Society of Women Engineers Student Section at UK.
Before joining the university in 1995, Kim worked at Texas Instruments and Boeing Electronics in automation, quality, and production management roles. She is a licensed Professional Engineer, a graduate of Leadership Kentucky (Class of 2010) and a Kentucky Colonel. Kim holds an Industrial Engineering degree from The Ohio State University and an MBA from the University of Dallas.
