Cellular Genomics and Imaging Core welcomes Bioinformatics Scientist Noah Ollikainen
The OVPR and Cellular Genomics and Imaging Core are pleased to welcome Bioinformatics Scientist Noah Ollikainen.
Ollikainen is a computational biologist with 20 years of experience developing and applying computational methods to answer fundamental questions in biology. He earned his Ph.D. at University of California, San Francisco, where he developed computational protein design algorithms to create proteins for therapeutic and industrial applications. As a postdoctoral fellow at the California Institute of Technology, he built new methods for mapping the spatial organization of RNA, DNA and protein within the cell nucleus. He then joined the National Institute on Aging, where he studied how the 3D organization of antigen receptor loci shapes the generation of antibody diversity. At UK, Ollikainen will provide a range of custom data analysis services, including for single-cell and spatial transcriptomics experiments, to help researchers move from raw data to biological insight. You can contact Ollikainen at Noah.Ollikainen@uky.edu.
