Kuali Build: Improving Visibility and Efficiency in Research Administration

Sponsored Project Services (SPS) is preparing to implement Kuali Build, a modern electronic workflow system designed to streamline research administration processes, increase transparency and improve service delivery to the research community.

One of the most significant benefits of Kuali will be increased visibility into the status of requests and actions. Faculty and administrators will have greater transparency into where items are in the review process, what approvals are pending and what steps remain before an action is completed. This visibility will reduce uncertainty and provide a more consistent experience across the proposal and award lifecycle.

SPS also intends to leverage Kuali to improve processes, eliminate manual steps, replace pdf forms with online workflows, identify workflow bottlenecks and shorten turnaround times wherever possible. As implementation progresses, we will work closely with campus partners to ensure the system supports both compliance requirements and the needs of the research community.

In the coming weeks you may start to see email notifications from Kuali administrators.  Emails from this address will provide additional information related to workflow items.

Additional information and training opportunities will be shared as the project moves forward.
