The Center for Health Equity Transformation (CHET) at the University of Kentucky is now accepting applications for its health equity-focused pilot grants through April 1. The awards are open to health equity studies affecting vulnerable groups or populations affected by health disparities.

Depending on applications, CHET hopes to fund up to two proposals this year, with one pilot study in conjunction with the new UNITE Research Priority Area. One of the missions of UNITE is to support research focused on racial disparities, racial health equity and social and racial justice that will result in impactful scholarly outputs and extramural funding for sustainability.

Each award grants up to $25,000 for a 12-month pilot project. Funds for the pilot grants are made possible through the support of the Office of the Vice President for Research and UNITE Research Priority Area. 

Applications are due April 1, 2021, and selected applicants will be notified in May.

With support from the Office of the Vice President for Research, the College of Medicine, the Markey Cancer Center, the Center for Clinical and Translational Science, and the College of Arts and Sciences, CHET’s mission is “to synergize innovative, transdisciplinary and impactful research and training to improve the health of the most vulnerable residents of Kentucky and beyond."
