What if we could know a horse was at risk for serious injury before it ever stepped onto the track? At the University of Kentucky, Allen Page, D.V.M., Ph.D., is working to answer that question.

Listen to this “UK at the Half” which aired on Jan. 24 during the Wildcats’ game against Ole Miss to hear from Page, who is a veterinarian and researcher in the UK Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment. His work focuses on biological signals that could help predict when a horse may be at risk for serious injury.

Read more about his research and watch a video by the UK Research Communications team.

“UK at the Half” airs during halftime of each UK football and basketball game broadcast on radio and is hosted by UK Public Relations and Strategic Communications and Marketing and Brand Strategy. To hear the “UK at the Half” interview, click on the play button above.
