Update on NIH No-Cost Extension Process

If you submitted a request to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) since May 2025 for a No-Cost Extension via the Prior Approval mechanism in eRA Commons, please reach out to the Collaborative Grant Services (CGS) Grant Specialist who assisted you as soon as possible. NIH released an updated notice on this process on August 7, 2025, see NOT-OD-25-142. NIH is reestablishing the No-Cost Extension functionality, and these requests will have to be resubmitted, per this notice. Find your Post-Award Grant Specialist here.
