Markey Research Seminars: Melinda J. Ickes

The UK Markey Cancer Center sponsors the Markey Research Seminar, a weekly, continuing-education series, on Wednesdays from Noon–12:50 p.m. Open to all, these sessions welcome internal and external cancer researchers who share their expertise and highlight their work and research. University of Kentucky community members can sign up to receive notices of upcoming speakers and lecture titles by contacting Assistant Director for Research Administration Danielle Story, MBA, and requesting to be added to the Markey Interest listserv.

2025 Markey Cancer Research Day

Markey Cancer Center Research Day is an exciting and informative event that showcases the innovative cancer research projects happening across all disciplines at the University of Kentucky. This single-day event provides a platform for the UK research community to share their work and collaborate with others. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a poster session, attend oral presentations, and hear from experts during the Susan B. Lester and Gilbert H. Friedell, MD, Memorial Lectures.

9th Annual Precision Medicine Symposium

This symposium highlights clinical advances in precision medicine. Oncologists, hematologists, oncology surgeons, pathologists, radiologists, oncology nurses, researchers, clinical research staff, pharmacists, genetic counselors, cancer center administrators and cancer program leaders are encouraged to attend. Thursday, Oct. 12, 2023 Noon to 5:30 p.m. Healthy Kentucky Research Building 150/Atrium  This event will feature a keynote by Dr. Mary Dankoski at noon, both virtually and in-person. WEBINAR: Protecting Health in a Changing Climate

Dr. Caleb Dresser leads the Climate MD program at the Center for Climate, Health, and the Global Environment at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, which works with frontline health clinics to prepare a climate-ready health care workforce. He is also the assistant director of the climate and human health fellowship for physicians, an emergency medicine physician at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and an instructor in emergency medicine at Harvard Medical School.
