NIH Will Stop Posting Notices of Funding Opportunities in the NIH Guide for Grants and Contracts in FY2026

Beginning in fiscal year 2026, NIH will no longer post NOFOs in the NIH Guide. Grants.gov will serve as NIH’s single official source for grant and cooperative agreement funding opportunities. The NIH Guide will continue to be used for policy and informational notices.

No-Cost Extension Functionality Within eRA Commons Re-Enabled

NIH has re-enabled the No-Cost Extension functionality within eRA Commons. Recipients may resume initiating first no-cost extensions in eRA Commons, in accordance with the NIH Grants Policy Statement, Section 8.1.1.3. Requests that were previously submitted via the prior approval module will not be reviewed, and recipients will need to initiate the first no cost extension within the Status module by using the Extension action.

PDO has launched a new dashboard, enabling grant seekers to subscribe and manage their subscriptions to electronic subject mailing lists to receive regular PDO Funding Alerts of open funding opportunities and notices.

Postponed: NIH Common Forms Implementation for Biographical Sketch and Current and Pending (Other) Support

To further support a successful transition to the planned digitally certified SciENcv Common Forms, NIH is postponing the May 25, 2025 implementation date for all grant applications and Research Performance Progress Reports (RPPRs).

NIH Notice: NOT-OD-24-061 -Effective May 25, 2024, this Notice replaces previous guidance on marking changes in Resubmission applications. The use of markups such as italicizing should not be used to identify changes in Resubmission applications
