Bariatric Tissue Bank

The Alliance for Diabetes and Obesity Research (ADORE) has opened its bariatric tissue bank to the research community, including collaborators outside of UK. The bank includes serum, blood cells and fixed/frozen tissues from high BMI subjects, with clinical data available. No IRB approval is needed. Contact barb.nik@uky.edu.

Media Training Resources

Faculty, staff and administrators can sign up for group media training sessions that take place once per month.

NIH plans to launch preview versions of the NIH Common Forms within Science Experts Network Curriculum Vitae (SciENcv). Users should be able to access these preview versions of the Biographical Sketch and Current and Pending (Other) Support Common Forms and the NIH Biographical Sketch Supplement (along with the corresponding instructions) on or before September 15, 2025.

NIH is currently taking comment on publication costs with multiple proposed options.

CITI Research Security Training due Oct 1

To comply with National Security Presidential Memorandum 33 and the CHIPS and Science Act of 2022, all investigators currently engaged in research on a federally funded award or submitting a federally funded proposal are required to complete research security training by October 1, 2025.

NSF Malign Foreign Talent Recruitment Certification

The CHIPS and Science Act of 2022 prohibits participation in malign foreign talent recruitment programs while receiving federal funding. To confirm compliance with this requirement, NSF requires each PI certify their lack of participation in such a program.
