Register for the 6th Annual James B. Beam Institute Industry Conference

The James B. Beam Institute for Kentucky Spirits (JBBI), in partnership with the Kentucky Distillers’ Association (KDA), has opened registration for the 2025 Industry Conference. The conference on UK’s campus March 17-19 features sessions led by bourbon industry leaders related to spirit production, business, new technology and agriculture, branding and sales. Ouita Michel, owner of several farm-to-table restaurants in the Lexington area, is the keynote speaker. 

New Opioid Abatement Funding Decision Tool

This new tool is available for state and local government partners to provide evidence-based practices tested through the HEALing Communities Study (HCS) Consortium members including the UK HCS team. The tool allows the user to respond to questions regarding the current community environment then provides a list of evidence-based practices for spending opioid settlement funds.  Learn more here. BIRCWH Program Scholars and Associates | apply by March 5

The Building Interdisciplinary Research Careers in Women’s Health (BIRCWH) program is now accepting applications for two Scholars and up to four Associates, effective August 1, 2025. Selected faculty receive intense mentoring and career development to strengthen their research programs. Applications are due at 11:59 p.m. March 5. Click here to learn more.

CCTS Offers New Mentor Training

The Center for Clinical and Translational Science now offers mentor training using the CIMER Entering Mentoring Curriculum. The program is for UK faculty with mentees in health or biomedical fields, and it meets the requirements for serving as a mentor on an NIH-funded training grant. This interactive, in-person training is offered four times a year at no cost.  More information here.
