The UK Markey Cancer Center sponsors the Markey Research Seminar, a weekly, continuing-education series, on Wednesdays from Noon–12:50 p.m. Open to all, these sessions welcome internal and external cancer researchers who share their expertise and highlight their work and research. Navigating and Implementing the NIH Data Management and Sharing Policy at UK

The NIH’s Data Management and Sharing (DMS) Policy, which went into effect in January 2023, has established new requirements for grant applicants to put forward a plan explaining how their research data will be made accessible to other researchers and the public. At this session, Research Data Librarian Isaac Wink will cover the major elements of the policy researchers need to know and provide guidance on writing successful data management and sharing plans. Office of Research Integrity (ORI) Office Hours

Coffee Science Unfiltered: Session 4

Brandon Bir, Director of Sustainability at Crimson Cup Coffee & Tea, will lead the fourth session of Coffee Science Unfiltered. In this session, "Decoding Sweetness and Acidity in Coffee," Brandon will explore the chemistry behind coffee flavors, focusing on recent sensory science research. He will dive into how sweetness and acidity are perceived, dispel common misconceptions about taste identification and discuss the cutting-edge research shaping the sensory world of coffee.
