Scary Stories in Excel

Do you find Excel constantly not displaying your data correctly? Don’t worry, your computer isn’t haunted—but Excel isn’t always built to do exactly what you want. This workshop will cover some of the most common mistakes made with entering, organizing, and cleaning data in Excel, showcase examples of these mistakes having big impacts in business and research, and give you the understanding you need to guard against these haunted mistakes.

CRSO's Open Office Hours

Research investigators and staff are encouraged to come to the Clinical Research Support Office's (CRSO) weekly office hours with questions about any of the research technologies that are administered and supported by the CRSO. These include: • OnCore CTMS • Advarra eSource + EDC • Advarra eREG Members of the CRSO’s Research Systems Management and Education (RSME) team will be available to answer questions and provide in-person support.

2025 Laboratory Safety Fair

University of Kentucky’s Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Division will present the 2025 Laboratory Safety Fair featuring food, fun, and prizes. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, October 31, in the HKRB lobby, HKRB auditorium, and BBSRB atrium. UK faculty, staff, and students will have the opportunity to engage with EH&S personnel in interesting and informative activities and demonstrations. Costumes are encouraged. 

Friday High-Five With PDO: Generative AI for Proposal Development: Guidance, Guidelines and Policies

Generative AI (GenAI) is a hot topic in proposal development, and guidelines and regulations regarding its use are rapidly evolving. This session will provide a survey of GenAI policies that have been released to date by major funding agencies and examine what they mean for your grant development process.   Presented by Halley Todd & Lou Hurst.
