UNITE Ongoing Member Engagement Meeting

UNITE’s series of in-person, topic-specific informal talks will continue on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, from 11:45 am – 1:30 pm. Lunch will be provided to attendees. Office of Research Integrity (ORI) Office Hours

October 15, 2024 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm ZOOM: https://uky.zoom.us/j/88163309891 Investigators, research staff, and/or students are encouraged to come with questions about ongoing research, developing research projects, the E-IRB system, and general IRB operations. A variety of staff from the ORI will be available to answer questions and provide in-person support. Both medical and non-medical researchers are welcome to attend. 

Data Cleaning in R: Welcome to the Tidyverse

Join us for the second installment of the R Workshop Series, where the focus will be on cleaning data in R. You will learn how to import data, extract information from data frames/tibbles, subset data, how to use factors, format dates, and more. Participation in the first installment of the R Workshop Series, Intro to R, or a working knowledge of R/RStudio is highly recommended.    

TODD Symposium: Translational Chemical Biology

SUPRA Speaker Series: Substance Use Policy Roundtable

As part of the SUPRA speaker series SUPRA is hosting a roundtable on Substance Use Policy on October 14th at HKRB room 150 from 2:00 pm - 3:30pm, followed by a reception from 3:30 pm - 4:00 pm with small bites and beverages. Beyond the Hype Cycle: Generative AI in Work, Learning, and Life

We are approaching the two-year anniversary of the public release of ChatGPT, which ushered in not only a dynamic, sometimes frenetic pace of technological development and use cases, but also a similarly energetic discussion on the value, meaning, and implications of generative AI for the future of work, learning, and life. There are many competing claims among experts, thought leaders, and non-experts alike.

Women in Finance Summit

The 4th Women in Finance Summit will be held on Friday, October 11, 2024. Join Gatton alumnae beginning with a luncheon, followed by a half-day of panels and networking. The event is free and open to all students. Registration information will be posted in the fall. Students also are encouraged to apply for $5,000 scholarships which will be awarded that day.
