2025 Annual John P. Wyatt, MD Environment and Health Symposium

The annual 2025 John P. Wyatt, MD Environment and Health Symposium, held on Earth Day, April 22, 2025, will feature Awardee and Keynote Speaker, Ellen Hahn, PhD, RN, FAAN along with facilitated discussions with expert panelists covering “Moving Research to Policy.”     We will feature student research through 3-minute Lightning Talks showcasing its impact on environmental quality, human health, policy, or all 3. Presentations will be reviewed by a panel of judges and all student presentations are eligible for cash prizes!    

2025 Public Health Showcase

The 2025 Public Health Showcase will be held in person on Monday, April 21, 2025, at the University of Kentucky Gatton Student Center, 2nd floor, Grand Ballroom ABC. This event is a unique opportunity for sharing recent and on-going work in public health research, practice, and teaching. To encourage networking, all presentations will be in a poster format. UK CPH students, faculty, staff, community partners, and collaborators are invited to submit an abstract for either a research poster presentation and/or a non-research poster presentation.

Friday High-Five with PDO: NIH Simplified Peer Review – What’s the Difference?

We’ll investigate NIH’s new Simplified Review Criteria and the implications of these changes for your proposal development strategy.     This is part of "Friday High-Five with PDO," the Proposal Development Office's new weekly workshop series. Every Friday at 11:00 a.m. PDO shares up-to-date guidance, advice, and tips for developing competitive grant proposals. Each session will consist of a 30-minute training followed by 15-minute dedicated Q&A. You will learn five key takeaways to help your proposal writing and development.

CRSO’s Open Office Hours

Research investigators and staff are encouraged to come to the Clinical Research Support Office's (CRSO) weekly office hours with questions about any of the research technologies that are administered and supported by the CRSO. These include: OnCore CTMS Advarra eSource + EDC Advarra eREG Members of the CRSO’s Research Systems Management and Education (RSME) team will be available to answer questions and provide in-person support.

UNITE Research Showcase

The 2025 UNITE Research Showcase will take place on Thursday, April 17, 2025, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm in the Gatton Student Center. The UNITE Research Priority Area brings together groups of investigators, trainees, colleges, and research groups with a focus on research. Since its inception, UNITE has centered its efforts on promoting impactful research. Through the support of the University of Kentucky Research Foundation, the RPA hosts a dynamic research showcase to elevate research vital to the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
